What Interlign stores when you create an account, gloss text, request study kits, or use the browser extension.

What we collect

Interlign collects the account, content, and service data needed to run the features you use.

  • Account basics such as username, password hash, and optional email.
  • Video identifiers, URLs, subtitles, transcripts, pack uploads, and gloss requests for content you ask us to process.
  • Saved study data such as cards, review progress, dictionary lookups, and similar actions you trigger in the app or extension.
  • Billing metadata such as customer IDs, checkout references, invoices, balance history, and similar records tied to purchases or deposits.
  • Basic request logs, rate-limit data, and error details used to keep the service reliable and investigate failures.

How we use it

We use this data to run the features you asked for and keep the service operational.

  • Generate transcriptions, gloss lines, translations, review items, and downloadable study kits.
  • Sync saved study state across supported clients.
  • Handle sign-in, balance deposits, billing support, and access control.
  • Detect abuse, enforce rate limits, and debug failures.
  • Investigate reported bugs or quality issues.

Extension scope

The browser extension is focused on YouTube watch pages.

  • It requests access to YouTube pages so it can detect the active watch video and draw the gloss overlay.
  • It sends the active video identifier, subtitles or transcript data, and the actions you trigger to the configured Interlign server.
  • It is not meant to inspect unrelated browsing outside that workflow.
  • Some review flows may open hosted Interlign pages from the extension.

Sharing and retention

Interlign is a learning tool, not a data broker.

  • We do not sell personal data.
  • Payment card details should be handled by the payment processor rather than stored directly by Interlign.
  • We may use vendors for hosting, model or transcription calls, payments, and email when needed to run the service.
  • We keep data only as long as needed for account access, saved study state, short-lived study-kit files, cached processing, and service operations.
  • We may disclose limited information when required by law or when needed to prevent abuse or protect the service.
  • Use /support if you have a privacy question or data request.
